Discover the Pacific Slope, a combination of middle elevations in the Pacific also influenced by the highlands and the Southern Pacific Lowlands. The Talamanca Nature Reserve is located 4,921 feet above sea level, at the feet of the Chirripo, tallest mountain of the country. 4000 acres of pristine and secondary forests will take you to experience the local vibrant birdlife with a plethora of Speckled, Silver-throated and Scarlet-rumped (Cherrie’s) Tanager and the playful Fiery-filled Aracaris in the gardes to Resplendent Quetzals and toucanets in the upper forest the reserve is home to more than 300 bird species.

The lodge is cozy and comfortable with 10 rooms inspired in the local culture, and in our restaurant you can experience the local flavors while getting ready for your birding or hiking adventures. There are miles and miles of inexplicable beauty. Walking tours are available upon request, exploring waterfalls and centenary woods. And of course, there is always the Chirripo National Park, to climb (the starting path is just about 1 kilometer from our gate). Advance reservations are necessary.
